What do you want me to do for you?

This passage documents two separate conversations in which Jesus asks someone, “What do you want me to do for you?” Though the question is identical, the responses could not be more different. One of them embodies a mindset infected with selfish ambition. The other conversation is based upon a perspective shaped by a healthy humility. Jesus asks, “What do you want me to do for you?” Our answer to that question reveals whether we are driven by selfish ambition or shaped by Christian humility.
